Job Description – PD Merchandiser (Woven Garments)

Position: PD Merchandiser
Department: Merchandising / Product Development
Location: Guindy, Chennai
Experience: 1–5 Years
Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹26,000 per month
Industry: Garment / Apparel Export – Woven Garments

Job Summary

We are looking for a PD Merchandiser with 1–5 years of experience in woven garments to handle product development, sampling, costing, follow-up, and coordination with internal teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle product development activities for woven garments.
- Coordinate with the design, sampling, production, QA and merchandising teams.
- Follow up on proto, fit, size set, PP and TOP samples.
- Prepare and maintain BOM, spec sheets, costing sheets and product development documents.
- Coordinate for fabric, trims and accessories required for development.
- Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely sample completion.
- Understand buyer requirements, tech packs and product specifications.
- Track sample approvals, comments and revisions.
- Maintain T&A; (Time & Action)



calendars and ensure timely execution.
- Assist in costing and order feasibility discussions.
- Identify development issues and coordinate with relevant teams for solutions.
- Maintain proper records and provide regular status updates.

Required Skills
- 1–5 years of experience in woven garment merchandising / product development.
- Valuable knowledge of woven fabrics, garment construction and sampling processes.
- Understanding of BOM, costing and T&A.;
- Valuable follow-up and coordination skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to manage multiple styles and meet deadlines.
- Experience in garment export houses will be an added advantage.

Qualification
- Any Degree / Diploma in Fashion, Textile, Apparel or related field preferred.
