About the Role
Crossword Bookstores Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced GM/ AGM – Accounts to lead the Accounts function. The role will be responsible for managing the overall Accounts operations, taxation, statutory compliance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, banking coordination, audits, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience in managing Accounts operations in a retail, FMCG, e-commerce, or any multi-location business environment and should be comfortable working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of 15+ Accounts professionals, with overall responsibility for the Accounts function.
- Guide, mentor, and support the Accounts team to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Define responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
- Drive process improvements, standardisation,



and accuracy across the Accounts function.

Accounting Operations
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely accounting entries.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of books of accounts.
- Ensure proper accounting of provisions, accruals, expenses, liabilities, etc.
- Oversee reconciliation of sales, purchases, inventory, supplier, vendor, landlord, and other ledgers.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
- Coordinate with various departments for bills, provisions, expenses, gift vouchers, and other accounting information.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Oversee the complete Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) function.
- Ensure timely processing, verification, and payment of vendor and supplier invoices.
- Monitor outstanding payables and ensure proper vendor reconciliations.
