Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operation of the ASRS system for storage, retrieval, and tracking of finished wire rod coils.
- Monitor and control ASRS automation, conveyors, coil lifters, stacker cranes, and transfer cars for smooth material flow.
- Ensure real-time coil tracking and data accuracy by maintaining communication between Level-2 automation and ASRS.
- Verify coil identification through barcode/RF tags and maintain accurate records in the system.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, including coil movement and storage bottlenecks; ensure prompt resolution for uninterrupted operations.
- Inspect and maintain ASRS equipment, including stacker cranes, conveyors, lifting mechanisms, and sensors during shifts.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and automation (PLC/SCADA) teams for preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance as per schedule.
- Monitor coil stacking patterns, optimize bay allocation, and ensure proper utilization of storage space.




- Synchronize coil dispatch schedules with production and logistics teams; ensure smooth handover and minimal delays.
- Reconcile inventory data between ASRS, production systems (WRM), and SAP/ERP for accurate accounting.
- Segregate coils based on grades, sizes, and customer requirements; support audit processes to ensure zero coil misplacement or loss.
- Enforce all safety procedures, including compliance with LOTO, PPE, and secure coil handling practices.
- Maintain housekeeping and documentation standards as per 5S, ISO, and TPM guidelines; participate in audits and incident investigations.
- Analyze performance data of the ASRS; suggest and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
- Train operators and technicians on proper operation, safety, and troubleshooting methods for the ASRS.
- Prepare and submit utilization, downtime, and performance reports; coordinate with related teams for workflow optimization and issue escalation.
