This role is intended for an experienced software engineer with strong cloud and backend development expertise who enjoys building reliable software systems that integrate with industrial equipment. The Senior Cloud & Software Engineer will implement, deploy, and sustain cloud-connected applications, backend services, software infrastructure, and shared technology platforms supporting NOV's Service Equipment product portfolio. Working closely with engineering leadership and system architects, this individual will translate architectural direction into scalable, production-ready solutions while providing technical mentorship, promoting software engineering best practices, and taking ownership of the reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement of the software platform.
- Develop, maintain, and support cloud-based software platforms and backend services supporting NOV Service Equipment products.
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, containerized applications, and production software environments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate industrial equipment with cloud services, databases, APIs, and enterprise applications.
- Troubleshoot complex software, infrastructure, networking, and system integration issues across development and production environments.
- Establish and promote software engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, documentation, and deployment processes.
- Mentor software engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and team-oriented problem solving.
- Develop reusable software frameworks and shared platform capabilities that support multiple product lines.
- Support software validation, release management, and remote deployment activities for production systems.
- Take technical ownership of assigned software platforms and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
