Operate the cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machine during cardiac surgeries.

Prepare and check perfusion equipment, circuits, oxygenators, and related devices before surgery.

Monitor the patient’s blood flow, oxygenation, temperature, and other perfusion parameters.

Maintain adequate circulation and oxygen delivery during cardiopulmonary bypass.

Administer blood products, fluids, and medications through the perfusion circuit as directed.

Manage blood conservation and cell-salvage procedures when required.

Assist with ECMO and other extracorporeal support procedures where trained.

Maintain accurate perfusion records and document all relevant parameters.

Identify and promptly manage equipment-related or perfusion-related emergencies.





Perform safety checks and ensure proper functioning and maintenance of perfusion equipment.

Follow infection-control, biomedical safety, and hospital protocols.

Coordinate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and other OT staff.

Participate in emergency cardiac procedures and provide perfusion support when required.

Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, storage, and maintenance of equipment.

Follow NABH and institutional quality and patient-safety standards.
