NextStepHR is looking for a Head of Business – Music for the music business of one of India’s largest and most established production houses. The role will own and scale the music business as an enterprise, with accountability across business development, revenue generation, strategic partnerships, music IPs, team leadership and overall business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take overall ownership of the music business and drive its growth strategy.
- Lead and mentor the music business team across business development, partnerships, operations and execution.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, partnerships and revenue streams across the music ecosystem.
- Build, develop and commercialise new music IPs and projects.
- Develop strategic relationships with artists, labels, talent agencies, brands, platforms and other industry stakeholders.
- Drive negotiations, deal structuring, licensing and commercial partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for catalogue monetisation and content-led revenue generation.




- Develop strategic collaborations with brands and platforms to create new music-led business opportunities.
- Own commercial performance, budgets, P&L; and revenue targets for the business.
- Work closely with creative, production, legal, finance and marketing teams to execute projects.
- Build long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders and continuously expand the ecosystem.
- Track music, digital entertainment and consumer trends to identify emerging opportunities.
- Own projects from conceptualisation and business development through execution and commercialisation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years within music, media, entertainment, content or allied industries.
- Robust understanding of the Indian music ecosystem, including artists, labels, platforms, agencies and music IPs.
- Proven business development, partnerships, licensing, revenue generation or commercial management experience.
