Experience
BASIC
- 2 Years of Experience.
- Experienced in ProE Creo 3.0/4.0 and Interactive Surface Design (ISDX), PDM Link and PDMe Windchill for document version control, Microsoft Office, Email.
- Proven track record of designing from concept to production of plastic enclosures, sheet metal assemblies, dye cast parts.
- Good verbal and written communication skills including in English.

Required
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with material science and metallurgy practices such as plating and surface finishes.
- Copmpehensive knowledge and experience with designing for serviceability and manufacturability.
- Comprehensive knowledge of injection molding practices in high-volume, low-cost production.
- High/medium volume, low cost, product design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the manufacturing workplace and processes.
- Proven track record of solving difficult problems using traditional and non-traditional approaches.

Preferred




- Comprehensive knowledge of technical document control and 2D/3D CAD file database management and version and revision control.

Job Description / Responsibilities
- Design mechanisms and enclosures for medium to high volume low-cost smart meters and other products for NES.
- Provide Mechanical Engineering support, including tool set configuration & management within the HW development group.
- Interface with internal and external customers regarding mechanical issues for specific projects.
- Specify, design and develop engineering 3D CAD models, 2D drawings and material specifications.
- Maintain proper version and revision control.
- Define, coordinate, perform and generate test reports to prove out the mechanical design.
- Interface with tool makers for design for manufacture (DFM).
- Design of manufacturing fixtures and jigs as needed for production or rework environments.
