Role Purpose
A BI Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing
scalable data solutions that enable reliable reporting and data-driven
decision-making across the organization. The role supports business performance
by transforming data from enterprise systems into high-quality,
performance-optimized analytics assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and
accessibility of information for stakeholders.
This position involves implementing backend data engineering processes to
integrate data from SAP, SAP BW, databases, and third-party systems into target
platforms such as Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric. Responsibilities
include developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, building data models in
data warehouses and lakehouses, optimizing Power BI semantic models and
datasets, and automating reporting processes using Azure Power Platform while
ensuring performance and capacity efficiency.
In addition, the Data Engineer must independently develop Power BI dashboards
and reports that deliver meaningful insights, KPIs, and performance metrics
through effective data modelling and visualization design.
