Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the indirect tax function, managing audits, assessments, and compliance under GST and pre?GST regimes.
- Drive end?to?end GST processes including reconciliations, returns filing, statutory reporting, and handling assessments.
- Establish SOPs, drive automation, and enable ERP/API integrations to deliver scalable tax processes.
- Provide insights to management on indirect tax implications, customs, and regulatory changes.
- Champion a zero?tolerance compliance culture, with clear activity planning and milestone tracking.
- Lead cost?saving initiatives, digitalization projects, and continuous improvement programs.
- Partner with finance, operations, and external stakeholders; represent the organization with tax authorities.
- Oversee TDS reconciliation and related statutory requirements, ensuring seamless integration with overall compliance processes.
Leadership & People Management:
- Build and lead a high?performing tax team, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and process discipline.
- Make timely, well?informed decisions that balance operational priorities with strategic outcomes.
- Align team objectives with organizational goals, driving performance excellence and measurable impact.
- Collaborate cross?functionally with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and external advisors to deliver integrated solutions.
- Champion digital transformation and change initiatives, embedding innovation into tax processes.
- Demonstrate honesty, discipline, professionalism, and ethical conduct, setting the tone for a values?driven culture.
Competencies:
- Solid technical expertise in GST, customs, and indirect tax laws.
- Hands?on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and tax technology tools.
- Analytical mind-set with ability to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
