Job Summary:

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for residential and commercial building projects. The role involves coordinating with project teams, tracking project progress, identifying delays, and ensuring timely completion as per the master plan and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project.

Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource allocation plans.

Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure alignment with project timelines.

Monitor and report project progress, delays, and forecast completion dates.

Analyze critical paths and provide recommendations for recovery or acceleration.

Prepare and update cash flow forecasts, progress S-curves, and manpower histograms.

Track material delivery schedules and subcontractor performance against timelines.

Review and certify contractors’ planning-related submissions and reports.

Conduct periodic site visits to assess actual progress versus planned progress.

Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports for management review.

Coordinate with quantity surveyors and billing engineers for project cost tracking.

Ensure adherence to project quality, safety, and contractual compliance.

Identify potential risks and propose mitigation plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.

Maintain updated records of planning documentation, schedules, and revisions.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering

Experience: 5–10 years (minimum 3 years in residential and commercial building projects)

Technical Skills:

Primavera P6 / MS Project

AutoCAD (basic knowledge preferred)

MS Excel (advanced level)

Understanding of BOQ, estimation, and billing concepts
