Lam Research India is seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Materials Engineer to support advanced materials compatibility evaluation, failure analysis, and materials development activities for semiconductor equipment and related technologies. The candidate will work on metals, polymers, composites, and surface-engineered materials to evaluate material behavior, reliability, degradation mechanisms, and process compatibility. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in electrochemical analysis, knowledge & handling of various organic and inorganic chemistries, and material characterization techniques. The ideal candidate should possess a strong problem-solving mindset, excellent analytical capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional global engineering teams in a fast-paced R&D; environment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform materials characterization and failure analysis on metals, polymers, and composite materials
- Demonstrate experience with thermoplastic and thermoset plastic materials,



including their fabrication processes, characterization, and analytical methods
- Perform electrochemical characterization using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry, and related electrochemical test methods
- Support materials evaluation activities involving various organic and inorganic chemistries, including material preparation, chemical compatibility assessment, process execution, and laboratory safety practices
- Broad working knowledge of a variety of micro and nano-mechanical techniques including sample preparation experience is required
- Investigate material degradation, defects, and root causes, and recommend corrective actions or engineering solutions
- Valuable understanding of mechanical behaviour of materials and structure property correlation
- Creating comprehensive technical reports with crisp and concise data for presenting to cross-functional teams
