A Day in the Life
Human Factors (HF) Engineer will be placed as part of the R&D; Engineering function of Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center R&D; facility and will work with the Human Factors and User Experience team. The HF Engineer will join a fun, diverse and caring team, that believes in working collaboratively. It will be a good prospect to work on products that are implanted in over a million patients.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Apply human factors engineering methods to support product development activities, including user research, task analysis,



and usability evaluation.
- Assist in designing and executing formative usability studies and contribute to summative usability validation activities.
- Analyses user data and identify usability issues, recommending improvements to enhance product safety and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Support use-related risk analysis activities, including identification of use errors and mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to documentation required for regulatory submissions related to human factors.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members when needed.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Product Design, Engine
