Analyze medical, personal, and financial information to evaluate eligibility for applications submitted for
Life and Critical Illness Insurance.
2. Assess and classify risk. Gather information, obtain medical tests or refer cases as required.
3. Approve cases within authority limit. Submit cases exceeding limits to be co-signed.
4. When decisions are not what the client would want, try to negotiate a better outcome with our reinsurers
(in accordance with reinsurance treaties and internal rules).
5. Liaise with business leaders and advisors while delivering exceptional service and expertise.
6. Communicate and explain decisions effectively to financial security advisors and/or clients' physicians,
as needed.
7. Respond to inquiries from financial advisors and general agents.
8. Document decisions in underwriting system.
9. Contribute to a positive team workplace through a spirit of innovation, continuous improvement and
professional development.
10. Maintain medical knowledge and stay current on underwriting practices.
