Job Description:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Extensive experience in developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases spanning multiple platforms and tools.
- Significant experience in building and operating critical high-scale systems.
- Strong management and team development skills, including setting roadmaps, delegating tasks, mentoring engineers, and providing feedback.
- Expertise in growing teams, including interviewing, collaborating with recruiting teams, and onboarding current members.
- Good understanding of software engineering methodology, with opinions on testing, code quality, and making quality/speed trade-offs.
- Exceptional technical skills in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
- Ability to lead from the front when necessary.
Candidate Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- Strong opinions on testing, code quality, and making quality/speed trade-offs.
- Knowledge of data structures and architectural principles.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and willingness to learn more.
- Ability to adapt to rapid growth and evolving business environments.
- Attention to detail in understanding requirements.
Programming Language and Technology Expertise:
- Strong proficiency in Java 8+ programming and multithreading.
- Familiarity with design patterns and architectural patterns.
- Hands-on experience in developing RESTful microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka.
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and Cassandra.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes is a plus.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Kibana, MQ
