About the Role:

The Associate Peer Review Performance Manager is responsible for driving day-to-day peer review performance (business-as-usual) across a defined segment of the Research Publishing journal portfolio. This role oversees the effectiveness, quality, and integrity of the peer review process by monitoring editor and editorial office performance against expected behaviours, key performance indicators (KPIs), and best-practice standards.

The role focuses on optimizing peer review workflows to improve speed to decision, author experience, and compliance, while ensuring high editorial quality and process integrity throughout the author lifecycle.



The Associate Peer Review Performance Manager operates with direction from their manager and receives guidance and coaching from senior peers.

While this role spans peer review operations, workflow optimisation, and cross-functional collaboration, the primary focus is on editor and editorial office performance management — monitoring, coaching, and driving improvement across a portfolio of journals. The ability to apply performance standards consistently and confidently, while exercising sound judgement — distinguishing between pushback that should be navigated firmly and feedback that genuinely warrants a response — is central to success in this role.
