Key Responsibilities

1. Metal Accounting & Reconciliation (Core Focus)

Establish and monitor a robust Metal Accounting Framework to track the mass balance of materials from procurement (Scrap, Pig Iron, Alloys) through melting, pouring, and finishing.

Conduct monthly Reconciliation of Metal Balances, identifying and investigating variances between "System Stock" (SAP) and "Physical Stock" (Floor).

Analyze Melting Losses and Pouring Losses to ensure they remain within standard AOP (Annual Operating Plan) tolerances.

Audit the consumption of high-value ferro-alloys and additives to prevent leakages and optimize the "Charge Mix" cost.

2. Cost Management & Production Analytics

Maintain the Product Costing architecture for various casting grades (CI, SG Iron, Steel).

Monitor Casting Yield Rates and calculate the financial impact of rework, rejections, and "fettling" costs.

Review energy consumption (Power/Coke) per ton of liquid metal to identify cost-saving opportunities in the melting process.

3. Financial Planning & Governance

Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)



for the foundry, providing budget vs. actual analysis for plant-level overheads.

Manage CAPEX evaluations for foundry modernization, such as new furnace installations or automated molding lines.

Ensure compliance with Cost Audit requirements and statutory standards specific to manufacturing.

4. Inventory & Working Capital

Oversee valuation of Raw Materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and Finished Castings.

Optimize inventory turnover ratios to reduce capital locked in slow-moving scrap or obsolete patterns.

Candidate Profile

Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost & Management Accountant (CMA/ICWA).

Technical Skills:

Expertise in SAP (FI-CO modules); familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) is a plus.

Deep knowledge of Metal Mass Balance and metallurgical costing principles.
