About the Team

DataLayer is the bedrock of the Bloomberg Terminal. It is the default reactive high-performance data transformation platform that powers almost every table and chart that users interact with. Trillions of market data updates get processed every day by this software and our customers rely on the real-time calculations being 100% accurate.

Today, DataLayer engineering teams are based in London, UK, and Frankfurt, Germany.

The newly created DataLayer Platform team in Pune will take ownership of embedding DataLayer into Bloomberg runtimes, providing seamless integration with the Bloomberg Terminal and backend services. This team will work closely with other DataLayer teams and multiple infrastructure teams to ensure DataLayer runs as efficiently and reliably as possible across these environments.

About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on technical leader to lead the DataLayer Platform team in Pune.





Given the depth and complexity of the technical domain, this role requires a Team Leader who is highly technical, actively involved in engineering, and experienced in people leadership. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product, other DataLayer teams, and other engineering stakeholders to shape and execute the team’s roadmap. At the same time, this is a leadership role with a robust hands-on engineering component, where the Team Leader leads by example, working alongside the team to design and implement robust, high-quality solutions.

To set the successful candidate up for long-term success, the role will begin with a strong individual contributor focus for the first 6 months. During this period, the candidate will work directly on DataLayer projects, build deep familiarity with the technical domain, understand the surrounding Bloomberg runtimes and infrastructure, and establish strong working relationships with the exis
