Overview

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a team building intelligent, AI-driven software platforms.



This is a hands-on engineering leadership role: you will set technical direction, drive strategic engineering initiatives, and stay close enough to the code and architecture to make sound technical calls. You will own delivery of distributed, data-intensive systems while pioneering agentic GenAI frameworks and LLM-based automation across the engineering organization.

The ideal candidate pairs a strong, classical software engineering foundation with demonstrated, real-world experience building agentic systems. We want a leader who has shipped agentic workflows into production and understands their failure modes.
