Role & responsibilities
- Handle medico-legal cases (MLCs) and provide legal guidance to hospital departments.
- Draft, review, vet, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MoUs, NDAs, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, labour laws, statutory regulations, and hospital policies.
- Coordinate with advocates, courts, police authorities, insurance companies, and government departments regarding legal matters.
- Manage legal notices, consumer cases, arbitration matters, and litigation in coordination with external legal counsel.
- Advise management on legal risks and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
- Monitor renewals of hospital licenses, registrations, and statutory approvals.
- Draft legal replies, notices, affidavits, and other legal correspondence.
- Maintain legal records,
case files, and confidential documentation.
- Support NABH accreditation and other regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Conduct legal compliance audits and identify areas of legal risk.
- Assist the HR Department in matters related to labour laws, employment disputes, disciplinary proceedings, and policy interpretation.
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable Acts, Rules, and Government notifications.
- Conduct awareness sessions for hospital staff on legal compliance, documentation, and patient rights.
- Perform any other legal and compliance-related responsibilities assigned by the Management.
