Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with experience in the biomedical or hazardous waste management sector. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and secure operation of mechanical systems such as autoclaves, shredders, conveyors, burners, incinerators, and related waste processing equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical maintenance practices with a focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment like autoclaves, incinerators, shredders, compactors, and conveyor systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure all mechanical systems operate in compliance with biomedical waste handling and disposal regulations (e.g., CPCB/BMWM Rules).
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs using CMMS or manual logs.
- Monitor the health of critical equipment using predictive tools (vibration, temperature, etc.).
- Support in the installation and commissioning of new machinery or modifications in existing systems.
- Ensure safe working practices and adherence to SOPs during maintenance activities.
- Assist in audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting as required.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and OEMs for service support and spare parts management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for reducing downtime and extending equipment life cycle.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in biomedical waste, hazardous waste, or environmental engineering facilities.

Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with autoclaves, burners, incinerators, shredders, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with waste handling
