Assistant Manager Tool Room

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Tool Room is responsible for managing the maintenance, repair, modification, and manufacturing of injection molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling to ensure uninterrupted production. The role involves leading the tool room team, ensuring preventive maintenance of molds, coordinating with production and quality departments, and improving tooling efficiency while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Tool Room Operations
- Supervise daily tool room activities, including mold maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Plan preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules for molds and tooling.
- Ensure timely availability of molds for production as per the production plan.
- Monitor mold performance and recommend improvements to enhance productivity.




- Coordinate mold changeovers and ensure readiness before production.

Mold Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose mold-related issues such as flashing, short molding, sink marks, mismatch, sticking, and dimensional deviations.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of recurring mold failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper maintenance of hot runner systems, cooling circuits, ejector systems, sliders, lifters, and hydraulic cores.
- Coordinate with external vendors for mold refurbishment and major repairs when required.

Tool Manufacturing & Development
- Assist in recent mold development, mold trials, validation, and commissioning.
- Review mold designs for manufacturability and maintenance requirements.
- Participate in design modifications and engineering change implementation.
- Ensure timely completion of tool manufacturing and modification projects.

Team Management
