The Department of Biology at Ashoka
University fosters an academic culture that encourages intellectual curiosity
and interdisciplinary thinking. As a department, we use multidimensional
approaches to study biology at different scales. Each lab course is unique and
will require different levels of support from the manager. The department
offers academic programs at various levels (undergraduate, PhD) that are
designed to prepare students for a solid foundation in research and careers in
biological sciences, medicine, the pharmaceutical and biotech industries,
teaching, and other related fields.

? Role and
Responsibilities:

The role of Junior Lab Supervisor-Academic, Department
of Biology comes with the following responsibilities:

Overall, the person hired will be




responsible for the successful running of practical courses by assisting the
faculty involved and providing necessary support. Here are some specific
duties:
- To learn and successfully demonstrate experiments to students
- Assist in the day-to-day activities of lab courses across the scale
throughout the year
- Guide undergraduate students on safety protocols and laboratory
etiquette.
- Assist faculty members in conducting and grading the lab courses.
- Maintain lab instruments, keep records of usage and perform
preliminary troubleshooting in case of instrument breakdown.
- Writing, editing, curating, and managing SOPs for lab equipment.
- Procure necessary instruments/reagents and assist in the purchase.
- Supervise and track equipment functionality, coordinate repair and
replacements.
- Participate in departmental activities as required.

Qualifications and
Skills Required:

A minimum M.Sc. in life sciences or
equival
