What's the Meal is a Mumbai-based meal kit startup focused on making home cooking faster and easier. The company delivers fresh, pre-portioned ingredients along with simple, step-by-step recipes, enabling customers to cook delicious meals in about 20 minutes. We completed a successful customer pilot earlier this year and are now preparing to relaunch in Mumbai this November, building a convenient, reliable service for busy households and individuals who enjoy cooking at home.

Role Description:

This is a freelance, remote, 3-month contract role for a Shopify Developer (fresher-friendly). The developer will help complete, customize, and maintain our Shopify storefront, including theme setup, product listings, and navigation and user flow. Work includes implementing front-end changes, integrating Razorpay for payments and a subscription app such as Skio or Recharge, ensuring mobile responsiveness, testing the full front end and backend, and fixing bugs ahead of launch. The role involves weekly deliverables and a short written progress update each week,



and working closely with the founding team to align the store with brand and customer experience goals. Compensation is ₹10,000 to ₹16,000 a month, paid weekly, depending on experience.

Qualifications
- Foundational Shopify skills, including theme setup, basic customization, and product/catalog management.
- Front-end development skills such as HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for layout, styling, and interactive elements.
- Understanding of e-commerce fundamentals, including user experience, conversion-focused design, and responsive web design.
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks in a remote environment, and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in startups, food/meal kits, or direct-to-consumer brands; prior project or portfolio work on Shopify is a robust plus.
