Responsibility
- Patient monitoring: Closely watch the mother and baby's vital signs, fetal heart rate, and contractions throughout the process.
- Medication administration: Administer pain medications, epidurals, and other prescribed drugs, according to the patient's plan.
- Assisting with delivery: Support the mother by coaching and positioning, assisting the doctor or midwife, and preparing for delivery, including emergency C-sections.
- Patient support: Provide continuous physical and emotional support, comfort, and education to the mother and her family.
- Emergency response: Recognize and quickly respond to any complications or emergencies that may arise for either the mother or baby.
- Instrument and room preparation: Ensure the delivery room is




- sterile and ready with all necessary equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities after delivery
- Newborn care: Perform initial assessments of the newborn, such as calculating Apgar scores, and provide immediate care.
- Postpartum care: Monitor the mother's recovery during the postpartum period and provide care for her.
- Patient education: Teach current parents about proper newborn care, including things like breastfeeding and what to watch for.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete patient records and charts throughout the entire process.
