Job Purpose

The Deputy Manager Accounts will own end-to-end book-keeping and accounts closure for Atlas, ensuring accurate and on-time monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing in line with statutory and group reporting requirements. This is a hands-on role: the incumbent is expected to independently close the books with minimal supervision, and to be the primary point of accountability for accounting accuracy and compliance at this location.

Key Responsibilities

1. Books of Accounts & Closure
- Independently manage monthly, quarterly, and annual book closure within defined timelines.
- Pass and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
- Maintain and scrutinise the general ledger and trial balance.
- Prepare and finalise the Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

2. Reconciliations
- Bank reconciliation on a regular cycle.
- Vendor and customer account reconciliation.
- Inter-company reconciliation with Alicon Castalloy and other group entities.
- GST reconciliation books vs. GSTR-2B and GSTR-1 vs. sales register.

Statutory & Tax Compliance
- GST return filing GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual return.
- TDS deduction, payment, and return filing (Form 26Q/24Q as applicable).
- Support Income Tax assessments and filings as required.
- Coordinate with HR on PF/ESI/PT compliance where it touches accounts data.

4. Fixed Assets & Inventory
- Maintain the fixed asset register and compute depreciation.
- Support inventory valuation and reconcile with stores/production records.

5. Audit & Reporting
- Coordinate statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit — prepare schedules and respond to auditor queries.
- Deliver MIS reporting to Group Finance and management.
- Support budget-vs-actual variance analysis.

6. Process, Controls & Coordination
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and group accounting policies.
