Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Process & Manufacturing Engineer who can take ownership of vehicle assembly and the setup of Pluto’s assembly unit from the ground up.

This role is not just about supervising production. The person will be responsible for defining how the vehicle is assembled, how the floor is structured, how operators work, how quality is checked, and how the process improves over time.

The right person should be comfortable building scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assembly Process Setup
- Define the complete vehicle assembly process from part receiving to final vehicle rollout.
- Create assembly stations, process flow, inventory management, work sequence, tools, fixtures, and manpower requirements.
- Develop explicit work instructions for operators.
- Validate each station before it goes live on the production floor.

2. Production Floor & Assembly Unit Establishment
- Help set up the assembly area,



workstation layout, material movement, storage, and WIP flow.
- Define station-wise requirements for tooling, jigs, fixtures, safety, and ergonomics.
- Ensure the floor is ready for repeatable vehicle assembly, not just one-off builds.

3. Quality Control & Process Gates
- Build quality checkpoints at every critical stage of assembly.
- Define inspection checklists for mechanical, electrical, electronics, and firmware-related assembly steps.
- Track defects, identify root causes, and close corrective actions.
- Ensure vehicles are not passed forward without meeting defined quality gates.

4. Stock Inventory, Assembly Kitting & Traceability
- Define station-wise kits and part presentation.
- Track parts from inwarding to kitting, WIP, fitment, rejection, and rework.
- Maintain traceability for critical parts and assemblies.
- Coordinate with sourcing and stores to avoid line stoppages.
