Job Summary:

The Transport Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all transportation activities to ensure the protected, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods. The role includes fleet management, driver supervision, compliance with transport regulations, vehicle maintenance, cost control, and coordination with internal departments and transport vendors.

Key Responsibilities:Fleet Management
- Manage the daily operations of company-owned and hired vehicles.
- Ensure maximum vehicle utilization and route optimization.
- Monitor vehicle availability and operational efficiency.

Transportation Planning
- Plan and schedule vehicle movements as per dispatch requirements.
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, purchase, and sales departments.
- Ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers and branches.

Driver Management
- Supervise drivers and transport staff.




- Prepare driver duty rosters and trip schedules.
- Monitor driver attendance, performance, and discipline.
- Conduct safety awareness and defensive driving training.

Vehicle Maintenance
- Schedule preventive maintenance and periodic servicing.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and minimize breakdowns.
- Maintain records of repairs, insurance, permits, fitness certificates, and pollution certificates.

Cost Control
- Monitor fuel consumption and mileage.
- Control transportation expenses and improve cost efficiency.
- Verify transport bills, fuel bills, toll expenses, and repair invoices.

Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Motor Vehicle Act and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain all transport-related licenses, permits, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to road safety standards and company policies.

Vendor Management
- Coordinate with transport contractors and fleet vendors.
