Nursing Superintendent (NS) Job Description

1. Supervise and manage all nursing staff in the hospital.

2. Ensure quality nursing care is provided to all patients.

3. Prepare and monitor nursing duty rosters and staff deployment.

4. Monitor nursing performance and provide guidance and support.

5. Ensure adequate nursing staff is available in all departments.

6. Coordinate with doctors and other departments for effective patient care.

7. Ensure proper documentation of nursing records and patient files.

8. Conduct nursing rounds and monitor patient care standards.

9. Ensure compliance with infection control policies and patient safety protocols.

10. Plan and conduct orientation and training programs for nursing staff.

11. Monitor the availability and proper use of nursing equipment and supplies.

12. Investigate patient complaints related to nursing services and take corrective action.

13. Participate in NABH activities,



quality improvement programs, and hospital audits.

14. Ensure all nursing staff follow hospital policies, SOPs, and ethical practices.

15. Maintain discipline, punctuality, and skilled behavior among nursing staff.

16. Coordinate with HR regarding recruitment, induction, leave, attendance, and performance appraisal of nursing staff.

17. Prepare departmental reports and submit them to the Management.

18. Attend management meetings and implement hospital decisions.

19. Ensure emergency preparedness and coordinate nursing services during emergencies.

20. Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.

Qualifications

* B.Sc. Nursing or GNM. Nursing.

* Valid Karnataka Nursing Council Registration.

* Minimum 3 years of hospital experience.
