About the Project
We are developing an innovative construction equipment product from the ground up and are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design & Product Development Consultant to lead the complete engineering development of the project.
This is not a conventional employment prospect. It is a project-based engineering assignment where the selected consultant will be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical product development lifecycle—from concept development to production-ready design.
The engagement is fully remote. However, occasional travel for prototype reviews, supplier discussions, manufacturing support, or testing may be required if necessary.
Project Responsibility
The selected consultant will serve as the technical owner of the project and will be responsible for the complete engineering execution, including:
- Understanding the product requirements and defining the engineering approach.
- Developing the complete mechanical design and product architecture.
- Creating robust 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Performing engineering calculations and validating designs using first-principles engineering.
- Conducting advanced simulation and FEA to verify structural integrity and performance.
- Designing products that are manufacturable, reliable, serviceable, and cost-effective.
- Selecting suitable materials, manufacturing processes, bought-out components, and standard parts.
- Applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Serviceability (DFS), and Lean Engineering principles.
- Preparing complete engineering documentation, BOMs, and design release packages.
- Coordinating with vendors, manufacturers, and fabrication partners during prototype and production stages.
