Lead – Business Legal

Role Overview-
The Head – Legal will be responsible for providing strategic and operational legal leadership to the Housing Finance Business . The role ensures full compliance with applicable laws, RBI regulations, corporate governance standards, and risk mitigation across lending, documentation, and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Strategy & Advisory

· Act as the principal legal advisor to the senior management on all legal, regulatory, and governance matters.

· Support business growth by providing legally sound solutions while managing risks.

· Interpret and advise on changes in laws, RBI circulars, SARFAESI Act, IBC, RERA, Transfer of Property Act, Stamp Act, Registration Act, Companies Act, etc.

2. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

· Ensure compliance with RBI regulations,
Companies Act, RERA, and other applicable laws.

· Vet and respond to regulatory notices, inspection reports, and supervisory communications.





· Coordinate with Compliance and Risk teams on regulatory filings, audit findings and corrective action plans.

· Interpret recent regulations and assess impact on business operations.

· Evaluate loan documents and provide inputs w.r.t legal actionable such as title search, loan documentation.

3. Business and transaction legal support

· Oversee and standardize loan documentation (HL, LAP, affordable housing, builder loans if applicable).

· Vet agreements including loan agreements, security documents, guarantees, MOUs, vendor contracts, empanelment agreements, and outsourcing contracts.

· Ensure enforceability and adequacy of security creation (mortgage, equitable/registered, collateral).

· Support product structuring from a legal and regulatory perspective.

· Advise business teams on legal risks and mitigation strategies w.r.t Housing Loan, Construction Finance and their sub products

· Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors, service providers, DS
