Responsibilities
Drive the planning and delivery of complex mainframe application enhancements using Cobol JCL CICS and IBM mainframe utilities to meet critical enterprise business goals
Coordinate cross functional efforts to analyze design and implement database solutions on Oracle and DB2 that ensure high performance scalability and data integrity
Guide the team in writing effective SQL queries and stored procedures that optimize transaction throughput and minimize resource consumption across mainframe and distributed environments
Oversee incident investigation and problem resolution for production mainframe and database issues while ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and rapid restoration of services
Implement robust change management practices for JCL and Cobol components to reduce deployment risk and ensure consistent and traceable software releases
Establish coding standards and review practices for Cobol JCL and CICS artifacts that drive maintainability reusability and long term stability of business critical systems
Mentor engineers on mainframe tools IBM utilities and database design patterns to build deep technical capability within the team and support sustainable delivery
Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to plan capacity performance tuning and modernization strategies for Oracle DB2 and mainframe workloads
