Unreal Engine Generalist – Vehicle Cinematics
We are looking for a Mid-Level Unreal Engine Generalist to support the production of high-quality cinematic videos focused on military aircraft, vehicles, ships, and other complex machines.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across different areas of Unreal Engine, with a strong focus on asset integration, optimization, VFX, and cinematic production. You will work with detailed 3D vehicle assets and help prepare them for smooth, visually impressive use inside Unreal Engine.
Responsibilities
- Import and integrate complex vehicle assets into Unreal Engine.
- Prepare Blender or other 3D assets for use in Unreal, including materials, textures, hierarchies, pivots, and scale.
- Optimize high-detail models, materials, textures, and scenes while maintaining strong visual quality.
- Identify and resolve performance issues related to geometry, shaders, lighting, VFX, and scene complexity.
- Set up LODs, Nanite, collision, texture streaming, and other optimization systems where appropriate.
- Create and integrate VFX such as smoke, fire, dust, water interaction, engine effects, atmospheric effects, and environmental particles.
- Work with Niagara systems and adapt third-party VFX assets when suitable.
- Set up vehicle animations, moving components, rotors, landing gear, doors, and other mechanical elements.
- Support cinematic sequences using Sequencer, cameras, lighting, environments, and rendering.
- Troubleshoot technical and visual issues throughout the Unreal Engine production pipeline.
- Organize Unreal Engine projects clearly so files, assets, materials, effects, and sequences are easy to manage.
- Collaborate with 3D artists, workplace artists, VFX artists, and the project lead.
