About the Job
The Red Hat Linux Virtualization team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a deep passion for engineering automated continuous integrated testing solutions. The RHEL Virtualization team is responsible for all aspects related to Virtualization in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including system, firmware, and device emulation, as well as their counterpart aspects in the guest instance on top of Red Hat or third-party virtualized platforms.
In this role, you will design, implement, test, and deploy automated tools and solutions that provide quality assurance to industry-leading technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and community distributions such as CentOS Stream and Fedora. As part of a geographically distributed team, you will collaborate with multiple Red Hat engineering teams and open-source communities around the globe. This position offers an excellent prospect to work alongside and learn from some of the brightest engineers in the open-source industry.
What You Will Do?
- Design and develop code that implement continuous integration testing pipelines; these pipelines validate the quality of new features and affirm the resolution of defects primarily in KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) and QEMU (machine emulator and virtualizer) across versions of RHEL and upstream open-source community projects.
- Actively contribute to and collaborate with teams enabling new features in testing frameworks like Avocado.
- Engage actively in the open-source community; review patches and provide technical feedback on community-oriented enhancements and bug fixes.
- Develop and contribute tests into a continuous integration (CI) workflow.
- Work effectively as part of a distributed, agile team.
What You Will Bring ?
- 5+ years of relevant experience in developing automated testing solutions for system-level software with gitlab/github operators, Jenkins, or equivalent.
- Programming language experience in python. C, C++, or Rust experience is a
