WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its New Product Development engineering team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a solid Mechanical Engineer to join the WETS New Product Development (NPD) team. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, the ability to independently solve mechanical engineering problems, and experience with OEM fluid and pneumatic components and plastic materials.
The engineer is expected to design subsystems from concept through qualification using minimum guidance, proactively manage technical risks using FMEA and structured problem solving methods, and collaborate closely with cross functional teams including Product Support and Supply Chain to ensure robust, production ready solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical subsystems for Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication tools for NPD, CIP and Sustanence
• Apply engineering first principles to solve mechanical engineering problems
• Perform OEM component selection eg: valves, regulators,



fittings, tubing, and sensors
• Design components using sheet metal, metals, plastic and polymer materials for wet and chemical environments
• Collaborate with CFTs such as Product Support, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Systems teams
• Execute medium complex subsystem designs from concept through qualification and release
• Support prototype build, testing, debugging, and qualification activities
• Maintain clear documentation of designs, calculations, risks, and decisions

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 - 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree up to 3 years; or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.
• Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and others.
• Hands-on experimental and design
