Role summary:
The (IND) Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement, test, and maintain services, APIs, and user interfaces. This role requires expertise in full software development lifecycle, including automation, monitoring, and continuous integration. The engineer will contribute to solution design, technical leadership, and innovation while ensuring alignment with business objectives and quality standards. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions are essential for driving impactful outcomes within a dynamic environment.

About the team:
Pulse is Walmart's user telemetry system designed to facilitate analytics processing of large-scale data. It simplifies the capture of online customer behavior, enables data sharing with partners, supports standardized data processing, and allows for global measurement of online properties across various Walmart tenants,



including Walmart US, Sam's Club, and other markets. Pulse consists of tools, libraries, and services that help teams’ onboard data, validate payloads, and access analytics data through persistent storage (Hubble) or live streams (Kafka).

What you'll do:
1. Own end-to-end feature delivery — Lead scoped feature development across APIs, services, UIs, and ML model components through the full SDLC, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and ongoing maintenance.
2. Design & build scalable, distributed systems — Develop high-performance, multithreaded backend services using Java ; design and integrate messaging pipelines via Kafka; and ensure solutions meet Walmart's reliability, security, and scalability standards.
3. Manage & optimize data at scale — Work with relational (SQL/RDBMS) and NoSQL databases for transactional workloads, and leverage Big Data technologies (Hive, Spark) to process and
