Position Overview

We're seeking a Backend Engineer (SDE-2) to design and build scalable backend services that power our healthcare platform. You'll own key modules end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive engineering best practices as we scale from 10 to 100.

Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with focus on performance and reliability
- Own and deliver well-scoped features end-to-end from design to deployment




- Contribute to technical design discussions and translate product requirements into scalable solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and effective code with proper testing and documentation
- Improve system performance, reliability, and observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to deliver high-quality features
- Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices while debugging production issues

Must Have Criteria
- 3+ years of backend development experience at B2C product companies
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Java, Python, or Go)
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database design and optimization
- Experience with Redis caching implementation and management
- Hands-on experience with message queues (SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka)
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs serving consumer-facing applications
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, Docker
