Job Description Summary
As Lead Engineer, you will lead product structure design of composite wind turbine blades with accountability & ownership through collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. In this role, you will utilize your experience to independently execute structure design assessments from conceptual ideas to realization into product, fulfilling all internal and regulatory compliance requirements. Further, as Lead Engineer you are expected to improve structural tools & methods and provide guidance/coaching to young engineers on design/assessment methodologies & solution for their task execution.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Own a scope of composite structure design for NPI blade and/or Technology project and develop structural solutions that are competitive in performance, cost, and quality
- Partner closely with Blade Owner, System Integration Leader and/or Project Manager to deliver on structure design solutions within stringent timeline from conceptual design phase to design validation phase.
- Lead and execute FEA design iterations to ensure fulfilment of all structure requirements of blade for load conditions including extreme, fatigue, transportation & handling.
- Perform design & analysis of composite structure concepts using CATIA, ABAQUS & In-house tools.
- Accountable to identify key structure risks and propose adequate mitigation plan for a comprehensive DFMEA for the blade structure.
- Work closely with cross functional team to identify and correct any design related potential obstacles to manufacturing. Proactively support blade start-up and ramp-up in production on structure design related queries for quick approvals & dispositions.
- Lead and/or participate as a presenter and/or reviewer in structure design review
- Provide guidance and coaching to young engineers enable them to efficiently execute assigned tasks
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace or Civil Structural Engineering
