- Trend & Market Research: Analyze runway shows, retail sales data, and consumer behavior to identify seasonal trends and predict what will sell. [1, 2]
- Design & Illustration: Sketch original designs by hand or use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and graphics software. [1]
- Material Sourcing: Select fabrics, colors, patterns, and trims, ensuring they align with brand identity and budget constraints. [1, 2]
- Prototyping & Fit Testing: Work with sample machinists to create prototypes, conduct fit sessions, and adjust designs for proper construction. [1, 2]
