Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD)

Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) is a non profit registered in 2009 under the Tamil Nadu Society Registration Act. It works on Eco-San sanitation, decentralized wastewater treatment systems, afforestation and biodiversity conservation, water access in schools and villages, and organic farming. CSD partners with government bodies, corporates like Hyundai Motor India Foundation, and international agencies like Sanitation First.

Role

A detail oriented accounting role managing CSD's financial records, project wise fund accounting, statutory compliance, and donor financial reporting across all programs.

Responsibilities
- Maintain day to day books of accounts, including cash, bank, journal, and ledger entries using Tally or similar software
- Record project wise and donor wise income and expenditure accurately
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain petty cash records




- Support preparation of annual budgets and track project wise budgets
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and utilization certificates for donors and government agencies
- Monitor budget versus actual spending and flag differences to the Project Manager or Director
- Ensure compliance with FCRA, Income Tax, TDS, GST, and other statutory requirements
- Coordinate with auditors for internal and statutory audits and prepare required documentation
- Maintain compliance registers, filings, and renewals as per society or trust regulations Process staff salaries, statutory deductions, and reimbursements on time
- Verify and process vendor and contractor payments with proper documentation
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documents for audits and donor reviews
- Support the Project Manager with financial sections of donor reports and proposals
