The Staff QA Engineer is a senior technical leader who sets the quality and validation strategy for complex Extreme Networks products and solutions. Acting as a force multiplier across teams, this role defines test architecture and automation frameworks, drives the adoption of AI across the test cycle, and mentors' engineers — while remaining hands-on with the hardest technical problems in data center networking, routing, and security validation.
• Own the end-to-end test strategy for one or more products/solutions, from architecture and design through deployment and customer escalations.
• Define scalable test architectures and system topologies for data center networks, network security, and routing/switching at high scale.
• Architect and drive the organization's test automation framework and CI/CD strategy in Python/Golang, setting standards adopted across teams.
• Lead the adoption of AI in the test cycle — AI-generated test design, intelligent test selection/prioritization, automated log and defect triage, anomaly detection, and coverage analytics — and evaluate and roll out tooling for the broader QA org.
• Provide technical leadership on complex debugging and cross-functional root-cause analysis with development and solution engineering.
• Mentor and coach QA engineers; review test plans, automation designs, and coverage; and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Partner with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and Field/Customer Solution Engineering to represent quality in roadmap and release-readiness decisions.
• Lead customer deployments and escalations for strategic accounts and feed learnings back into test coverage and processes.
• Define quality metrics, release-exit criteria, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
