Role & responsibilities

Review and underwrite Non-QM and DSCR mortgage loans, including alternative documentation products such as Asset Depletion, Bank Statement, ITIN, 1099, and P&L; Only loans.

Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, and collateral to determine eligibility and lending risk.

Ensure loans comply with investor guidelines and regulatory requirements, including ATR/QM, TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and HOEPA.

Perform manual underwriting and recommend underwriting waivers or eligibility exceptions where applicable.

Issue clear, accurate, and compliant loan decisions and review resubmitted documentation promptly.

Respond to loan audits and post-closing documentation requests.

Collaborate with Account Executives, brokers, processors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely loan processing.

Stay updated with Non-QM products, investor guidelines, and secondary market changes.

Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance quality,



efficiency, and customer experience.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 2+ years of current experience in Non-QM Mortgage Underwriting, with hands-on experience in DSCR products.

Strong understanding of Non-QM loan programs and alternative documentation requirements.

Expertise in complex income analysis, risk assessment, and DSCR calculations.

Sound knowledge of secondary market requirements and investor guidelines.

Experience using automated underwriting systems such as DU and LP, along with electronic document management systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
