Job Description - Mechanical Procurement Engineer
Job Title: Mechanical Procurement Engineer
Experience: 3 to 6 Years
Location: Tumkur
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure mechanical components such as sheet metal parts, machined components, castings, forgings, fasteners, plastic, and rubber components.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers while maintaining robust relationships with existing vendors.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs), track material deliveries, and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Stores teams to meet material requirements and production schedules.
- Support new product development by sourcing components and identifying capable suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering, alternate sourcing,



and supplier negotiations.
- Resolve supplier and material-related issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain procurement documentation, supplier records, and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in Mechanical Procurement/Sourcing in a manufacturing industry.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, forging, stamping, and plastic injection moulding.
- Experience in supplier development, vendor management, purchase order processing, and contract negotiations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting.
