Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cross-platform build infrastructure Design, implement, and own the Android and iOS build systems (e.g. Gradle for Android, Xcode/CocoaPods for iOS) to support all our mobile apps. Ensure our build pipelines are reliable, efficient, and consistently deliver high-quality outputs for both platforms.
- Update libraries and tools to latest standards – Proactively keep our mobile codebases up-to-date with the latest OS versions, SDKs, and third-party libraries. Ensure compatibility and smooth adoption of new industry standards and best practices in our projects.
- Improve engineering system performance – Identify bottlenecks in compile, test, and release processes, and drive initiatives to optimize build times and tooling performance. Your work will directly accelerate development cycles and reduce wait times for engineers.
- Automate and simplify developer workflows – Automate repetitive tasks in the development and release process to save engineering time and reduce human error. Develop scripts or services for common needs like branch management,



CI/CD setup, and code quality checks.
- Ensure reliability and security of mobile infrastructure – Implement best practices for source control, testing, and security in our mobile engineering systems. Ship high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable infrastructure code that mobile developers trust for daily use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams – Work closely with Android and iOS feature development teams to understand their pain points and requirements. Coordinate with designers, product managers, and service engineers as needed to integrate the mobile build/test systems with overall product release cycles.
- Champion engineering excellence – Advocate for contemporary engineering practices and share expertise in mobile DevOps. Help instill a culture of continuous improvement where we measure the impact of infrastructure changes and iterate. Embody Microsoft’s values of growth mindset,
