The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for assisting cardiologists and interventional specialists during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures. The technician ensures the proper functioning of Cath Lab equipment, maintains sterile conditions, prepares patients for procedures, and provides technical support to ensure protected and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Verify patient identity, consent, and procedure details.
- Assist in positioning and monitoring patients during procedures.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist in transferring patients safely to and from the Cath Lab.
temporary pacemaker insertion, peripheral angiography, and other cardiac interventions.
- Prepare and arrange all instruments, catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, and other consumables required for procedures.
- Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Maintain accurate procedural documentation.
Equipment Management
- Operate Cath Lab imaging equipment and ensure proper functioning.
- Perform routine equipment checks before procedures.
- Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration of Cath Lab equipment.
- Maintain inventory of consumables and ensure adequate stock availability.
Infection Control & Safety
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques during all procedures.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Ensure proper sterilization and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and use personal pro
