Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop manufacturing tooling, welding fixtures, assembly fixtures, checking fixtures, and special-purpose tooling for railway rolling stock and component manufacturing.

Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, GD&T;, welding specifications, and customer requirements to develop robust tooling solutions.

Create fixture concepts, detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and assembly documentation.

Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and validate tooling designs to ensure dimensional accuracy, repeatability, and manufacturing capability.





Develop tooling with emphasis on manufacturability, operator safety, ergonomics, ease of maintenance, and cost optimization.

Coordinate with manufacturing, production, welding, quality, procurement, and project teams throughout the tooling design and development lifecycle.

Support prototype builds, tooling trials, commissioning activities, and production ramp-up by resolving tooling-related issues.

Investigate manufacturing and tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective design improvements.

Review Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and update tooling designs to support product revisions.

Ensure compliance with customer specifications, railway industry standards, quality management systems, and internal engineering guidelines.
