We are looking for a dedicated Biomedical Engineer to join our hospital team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted patient care. The Biomedical Engineer will work closely with clinical departments, nursing staff, physicians, and vendors to maintain the highest standards of equipment performance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment throughout the hospital.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration according to manufacturer recommendations and hospital schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct acceptance testing and commissioning of new medical equipment.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, equipment history, and asset records.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and vendors for warranty services, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC),
and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC).
- Train doctors, nurses, and clinical staff on the protected and effective operation of medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and applicable biomedical safety regulations.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacements or upgrades when necessary.
- Support accreditation audits by maintaining proper documentation and ensuring equipment compliance.
- Assist in biomedical equipment inventory management and annual budgeting for maintenance and replacement.
- Participate in emergency equipment support and provide technical assistance during critical situations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech.).
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship or hospital training may also apply.
