In this role, you will be at the forefront of this evolution, translating complex business workflows into well-defined, implementation-ready requirements for AI-enabled automation and agentic workflows. Operating at the intersection of business process design, AI strategy, and technical execution, you will work closely with AI Automation Engineers to shape an setting centered on tools like n8n, Boomi, APIs, and event-driven systems. By elevating our documentation standards and requirement clarity, you will directly improve delivery predictability and accelerate our AI-first execution.
This is a full-time role with Avalara, offering a fully remote work arrangement across India.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Requirements & Process Analysis:
You will partner with stakeholders and engineering teams to gather, analyze, and document AI automation requirements.
You will be responsible to map current and future-state processes to identify areas where AI or workflow automation can enhance speed, quality, and scale.
Solution Definition: You will be required to break down complex workflows into structured use cases, defining decision points, human-in-the-loop steps, system interactions, event triggers, and API touchpoints.
Creating detailed user stories and business rules that are ready for implementation.
Data Analysis: You will have to analyze data flows and define field-level mappings, prompt requirements, exception scenarios, and reconciliation rules to ensure data.
Quality & Governance: Challenge unclear requirements early to protect delivery timelines. Standardize requirement templates and documentation practices, ensuring processes and playbooks are left s
