Join us as a "Business Manager - Research" in Global Research Centre where you are expected to work in a high intensity, results oriented role within the Risk & Controls team based in Mumbai, which is an extension of the Global Research Business Management Team. The Risk & Control team in Mumbai operates controls and processes to cover key risks for the Research department, including but not limited to: Information Barriers, Cross-Border controls, Management of Personal Conflicts of Interest, Personal Account Dealing, Headcount Management, Research Event (Conference) Controls, RCSA testing, Internal Audit Reviews and Issues and Actions.

This role will focus on the execution and management of Personal Conflicts of Interest and Personal Account Dealing processes for the Research Department. The role will involve operating a high-volume process which requires quick turnaround and resolution. It will also require taking subjective calls from time-to-time, and is a role where attention to detail is key. The candidate will spend most of their time operating ad hoc,



monthly and quarterly control tasks.

The role requires interaction with the wider Research Business Management Team Globally, Research Compliance, Research Production and Operations, and may require connecting with stakeholders outside of Research such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Government Relations, Barclays Compliance etc.

Key Accountabilities

Developing an in-depth understanding of Personal Conflicts of Interest and Personal Account Dealing, their risks, and the controls designed to mitigate them.
Track and resolve personal conflicts of interest disclosed by Research colleagues, assessing the risk, escalating to Supervisor and Research Compliance and determining mitigating actions.
Undertake review of trades executed in managed accounts vs. the employee’s role specific trading prohibitions to determine potential breaches. Escalate where required and document outcomes.
