Role & responsibilities
- Raw Material Sourcing: Procure bulk commodities like copper rods, aluminum rods, steel wire, PVC, and XLPE compounds.
- Vendor Management: Find, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers while tracking performance and delivery.
- Cost Optimization: Negotiate competitive pricing, track global metal market trends, and lower overall procurement costs.
- Production Coordination: Work closely with the factory and planning teams to prevent stockouts and line shutdowns.
- Quality Compliance: Ensure all delivered goods match required standards (such as IS, IEC, or ASTM).
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or Supply Chain Management; an MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of experience in purchasing, specifically within wire, cable, or heavy metal manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Robust proficiency in ERP software like SAP or Tally, and market knowledge of dynamic metal pricing.
- Soft Skills: Advanced negotiation, critical thinking, cross-department communication, and vendor dispute resolution.
