We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Clerk to join our growing transportation company. The ideal candidate will have experience with cross-border shipments between Canada and the USA and knowledge of ACE, ACI/eManifest, and customs documentation procedures.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced workplace.
Job Duties
- Prepare and process customs clearance documentation for USA and Canada shipments
- Submit and manage ACE, ACI/eManifest, and related customs entries
- Verify shipping documents for accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate with dispatch, drivers, customers, brokers, and customs officials
- Monitor shipment status and resolve customs clearance issues quickly
- Maintain accurate records of customs documentation and shipment files
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian customs regulations
- Assist with scheduling and tracking cross-border shipments
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status and documentation
- Identify and report delays, discrepancies,
or compliance concerns
- Support the operations team with administrative and logistics tasks
- Stay updated on customs regulations and transportation procedures
Requirements
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or customs clearance preferred
- Knowledge of ACE and cross-border shipping procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Proficient with computers and data entry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
Compensation depends on the candidate’s experience and knowledge in customs operations.
